LMR is Four Months Today! Hip, Hip, Hooray!

Four Months!

“Moms love taking pictures of their babies.” Marty said to me yesterday while scrolling through Facebook.

Duh! How could you not?!

It’s such a miraculous thing watching these tiny humans grow. Especially when they start showing their personality. It’s like each day they do something cuter than the last. Having a smart phone makes it incredibly easy to capture each tiny little cute moment of their lives, and I’m not embarrassed to say I’m one of those moms who does.

Marty and I don’t have a lot of baby photos of ourselves. I can’t find any pictures of me before my first birthday, and I’ve never seen my baby book. I’m not sure my mom had time to write one for me. I wonder what I was like as a baby and if Rue looks like me when I was her age.

I want this blog to be a virtual baby book for Rue so she’ll know exactly what she was like as a baby. Plus, it will help me from being “that girl” who posts a million pictures of her kid on Facebook. Instead you’ll just see a lot of “New blog post” posts 🙂

The first 12 weeks, Rue didn’t really do much other than cry, sleep, poop, and eat. Right around 14 weeks, she started to do more and more human-like things which makes it even harder not to document every new thing she does.

Like:

Reaching for her toys
Chewing on her hands
Grabbing her binky
Talking & Screaming
Trying to sit up
Rolling over
Standing
Laughing
Smiling at everything we do

She’s the happiest baby I’ve ever met and her morning smiles melt my heart every time. She doesn’t cry when she wakes up. She just lies there smiling at us. It’s one of my favorite things about her.

She’s really starting to be less fussy, which is AWESOME! Last weekend, I put her in the pack ‘n play in the yard while Daddy and I did some yard work and she played with her toys for an hour without fussing at all. She really likes being outside!

She likes playing in her jump-a-roo, and in general, she can either lay on her back and play (she loves grabbing her toes and rolling over), or sit and play for 10-15 minutes at a time now. Big improvement from the first three months when she needed to be held all day long.

And she’s finally starting to get used to riding in the car. I’m pretty sure it’s the convertible car seat that she likes because when she’s in the infant car seat, she still screams her head off the entire time we’re driving. Looks like it’s time to buy a second convertible car seat, so we have one in each car. I hate moving car seats back and forth!

She doesn't even need a binky when she's in the convertible car seat. If you're debating which car seat to get, I highly recommend spending the extra money to get the convertible car seat that you can use from infancy to toddlerhood. It seems most parents agree, their kids fuss less in the convertible car seats.

We’re so in love with our little cutie and can’t wait to see what month four has in store for us! Follow us on Instagram (kanganrue) for new videos of all her little “firsts.”
