I’m so excited to say that I have been offered the executive chef position for Meals 2 Heal, a local non-profit that provides healthy, organic, GMO free meals to cancer patients. All of my life’s passions are rolled into one position and I get to work part-time from home!
Pappa Rodriguez was able to switch his days off so he can stay home with little miss Rue while I work, and that just makes me so happy!
I’m fortunate that I’ve been able to work from home these past seven months, but getting out of the house to work a little every week is amazing! It’s totally bizarre driving the car sans crying baby, but it’s definitely something I can get used to. I’m elated that I have been able to find work that is meaningful enough to warrant leaving my precious baby and I can’t wait to get out into the community and get to know this amazing group of volunteers, clients, and co-workers.
The best part is coming home to my lovies after being gone all day and seeing their faces light up when I walk in the door. I’m so grateful for this opportunity and I’m really looking forward to seeing where this journey takes us!
If you have any advice for how to get Rue to drink her milk while I’m gone, let me know. We’ve tried every cup on the market, spoon feeding, etc. and she’s just not having it. I don’t think I can go all day without pumping so I might have to sneak the milk into her food the next day or donate. Comment below with any tips/tricks you have!
Also, check out the work done at the Heimerdinger Foundation and come volunteer with us!
