I’m a big proponent of eating your fruits and vegetables instead of drinking them. And I don’t think juice should replace a meal. However, I think drinking raw juice is great way to get a bunch of vitamins and nutrients in your system very quickly in emergency situations.
For example, yesterday we went out exploring all day. We had a delicious eggs benedict for bruch and burgers and beers for dinner. Mmmmm…burgers! Freaking delicious but not so nutritious, am I right?
So this morning we gave our immune systems a good boost of vitamins and nutrients with this green juice to make up for dining out yesterday.
Don’t worry, you don’t need a fancy juicer to make fresh raw juice. All you need is a blender, a fine mesh strainer, and a whatever organic produce you have in the fridge. Berries, pineapple, lemon, ginger, celery, or spinach, would make some good substitutes for whatever ingredients in my recipe you don’t have on hand.
GREEN BLENDER JUICE RECIPE:
2 stalks of organic romaine lettuce
2 organic apples
A handful of organic kale leaves
10 organic baby carrots
The juice of 1/2 organic lime
2 cups of filtered water
Roughly chop the produce and put in a blender with the water. Blend on high for 30 seconds, then strain through a fine mesh strainer. Add lime juice and drink immediately. 🙂

NOTE: Diluting with water does decrease the nutritional value somewhat, but some slightly diluted juice is better than no juice so don’t let that stop you!
