Marty & Laura welcomed their first child, Rue Lydian, into the world in 2014 just before they moved to Nashville, TN. This blog is their way of documenting all of their daughter’s “firsts” and to share her growth with their family and friends back home in Chicago.

It’s also a place to discuss natural, sustainable parenting and all things crunchy. Such as: breastfeeding, babywearing, cloth diapering, DIY products, essential oils, natural remedies, healthy recipes, and anything else that comes to mind.

Laura owns a catering company, Crème Catering, and is the executive chef instructor for The Heimerdinger Foundation where she teaches volunteers the importance of healthy eating and how to cook immune boosting meals for cancer patients in Nashville.

She spends her free time blogging, crafting, eating and hiking her way through Nashville with her family, and photographing it all along the way.
